This one really runs the gamut of musical styles, across the board and around the planet. It’s an appropriate soundtrack for your commute to work–whether you’re in a hurry on the road, or you don’t care one whit how late the traffic is causing you to be–since it includes an edifying documentary about the automobile, go-kart racing sounds, a car horn organ, the sounds of the Brooklyn Bridge.

You’ll hear a bizarre (half-) interview with Neil Hamburger and a blues song about a meatball.

Several stories weasel their way into this show, including a traditional Chinese rhyme sung by a white woman and a gaggle of children, “Too Much Noise”, and “The Magic Fish”. The latter story may be summarized as a very odd way to convey a moral truism.

Today’s episode is especially extensive and entertaining because not only does it consist of Break Your Radio, but it also contains Summer School Radio. I stuck around for another two hours after my show because the next DJ was out of town. Oscar, an enthusiastic and adventurous high school student and WCBN DJ-in-training, takes over the tail end of the broadcast.
